Eero Heinonen

Born: 27th November 1979

Eero Aleksi Heinonen was born on the 27th November 1979 in Helsinki and is the bass player and live backing vocals for The Rasmus. He originally became friends with Lauri at a young age at school and eventually met with Pauli and Janne to form 'Rasmus' back in 1994. He was a rebel at school for famously announcing over the intercom that school was finished and sending the students home. He has always been the quiet laidback member of the group and is renound for turning up late and claims to have never been nervous before a show.

He practises Sahaja Yoga and has done since a friend introduced him to it in 1999; it involves not drinking alcohol or taking drugs at all and he meditates twice daily practising yoga. He encourages fans and others to take up the yoga by handing out leaflets at gigs every now and then and even showing fans what it is by running a small tutorial. He can play bass guitar, guitar and violin.

He played bass in Korpi Ensemble and wrote songs for them before leaving and forming his own band 'Hay and Stone' in 2004 and eventually released their debut album 'Making Waves' in 2006 singing vocals and playing bass guitar along with Hannu Risku on guitar and Petri Kivimäki on drums. They released their debut single 'Give Me The Power Back' off Making Waves and played a few gigs through Finland at the beginning of 2007.

Eero is the strength of the group and still the rebel in the clothes he wears and the way he stands out from the four of them. These days he has a strong sick sense of humour in playing practical jokes throughout the tour on the rest of the guys and singing random songs at each gig making it all unique. He tends to pick the support bands for the tours and he is always interested in finding out about new bands showing his passion for the music industry.

He is married with two children and is very much a family person. He loves interacting with fans and youll usually find him outside chatting before gigs happily signing and taking photos. He took videos of different areas around the world and edited them together forming the video for 'Immortal' and tends to film during gigs and post videos and updates on his account on youtube.

Overall he is a laidback talented guy who always knows when to be serious but despite his looks he is the dark horse of the group always entertaining during gigs and always wanting to meet new people from around the world.
