Aki's Bio/Facts

Aki Hakala

Date Of Birth: 28th October 1979

Aki Markus Hakala was born on 28th October 1979 in a small town not too far from Helsinki called Espoo where he went to school and learnt how to drum which soon became a passion to him. This eventually led him in to the world of music and began with drumming for both bands Kwan and Killer and also selling t-shirts for The Rasmus at their gigs. When Janne left Pauli quickly snapped him up knowing he'd be a great asset to The Rasmus which quickly became true.

He believes that drumming is the only thing he is good at even though he can now play a little bit of the guitar too. He is most closest to Lauri in the band and they always end up sharing hotel rooms when on the road. Before his debut in The Rasmus Aki had a small role in a the Finnish drama series "Siamin tytöt".

At the beginning of last year Aki finally took the plunge and had laser eye surgery meaning his signature glasses were no more and has now even gone one step further with going back to his true blonde roots (literally). He's always a go lucky happy guy who just loves to smile and make jokes and interact with the fans as much as possible. He recently became a daddy and seems to be enjoying life so much and can't wait to get back on the road again.
